Macrame & Weaving

Macrame
Was big in fashion back in the 70's / 80's. It can can used to design platted belts bags, pot plant holders wall hanging and trim details on just about anything.

When you look for books on Macrame most of them are in black and white and printed in the mid 1970's.

Once such book I found at the university Library was a book by Ann Stearns "Macrame" Published by Arco Publishing Company, Inc. NY. It showed some great Ideas on Macrame use and some step by step instructions to do some basic knotting.

Above is a contemporary use of Macrame to create a neck piece.

I'm looking into to using Macrame as an embelishment/ trimming on my swimsuit/ rashie designs. A possible trim around the cuffs. Possibly threaded with gold beads and gold cord interwhined with black.
